projecHOPE - KAYAYIE
This initiative is intended to offset the urgent needs identified with the head-load carrier (Kayayei) population in the country to better their conditions.
The project examines the lived experiences of the head-load carriers (Kayaye) girls and the impact on their well-being. It also tends to help make their lives a little easier and more comfortable, by helping them make informed decisions in their reproductive lives. This is to help reduce STIs as well as teenage and unplanned pregnancy amongst them.
Project hope is an upcoming non- profit organisation that intends to pursue the well-being of head-load carrier (Kayayei) girls. By introducing them to alternative work opportunities and vocational skills.
Currently ProjectHope has initiated the process of helping the head- load carriers (Kayayei). Community education, door-to-door visitation and we are currently seeking support to organize the first training on liquid soap production.
